About the Artist

Born at the foothills of the Sahyadri Mountain range in Walchandnagar, Maharashtra, Mr. Raut showed a natural talent and interest for fine arts from an early age that was recognized by his art teacher. Heeding his teacher’s advice, at the age of 17, Mr. Raut set out for Bombay (now Mumbai) where he earned admission to India’s finest art institution, Sir JJ School of Art.

At JJ, he embraced the opportunity with gratitude and dedication, refining his technique and strengthening the foundation, and was recognized for his art.

After graduating, Mr. Raut was offered an opportunity to nurture young talented minds and teach Art through his teaching career at Atomic Energy Central School. Alongside teaching, he continued to learn different techniques and further strengthen his art.

Since retiring as a teacher in 2001, Mr. Raut has continued to create art with the same passion. Even at 83, he has a childlike excitement when he begins any new painting. Over the past two decades, Mr. Raut has made several paintings for his family and friends. These paintings now reside in homes across the world, cherished and proudly displayed. In 2021, his family celebrated his Art through an Exhibition in USA to showcase his work so the community and friends can enjoy and appreciate his talent.

The purpose of this website is simply to share Mr. Raut’s life work, so people can enjoy his collection that he has created passionately. We do not intend to sell these paintings or seek any monetary benefits by publishing Mr. Raut’s work. Mr. Raut and his family would be honored to hear from well-wishers and admirers who feel a connection to his work.
